My Approach

Therapy ideally allows clients to learn, practice, and develop whatever self-understanding, strategies, and tools they may be needing or wanting within a safe space. The goal is to be able to extend these skills outside of therapy and into one’s day-to-day life.

A Blend of Approaches

I’m typically active within the therapy sessions and approach it as a collaborative process. I have a strong foundation within insight-oriented, psychodynamic therapy and view the therapeutic relationship as a key component in developing understanding about oneself and how you relate to those within your life. However, I have also attained extensive training and experience in shorter-term modalities, utilizing cognitive-behavioral (CBT), dialectical behavioral techniques (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing techniques that have been proven efficacious in addressing a variety of common concerns (i.e. anxiety, depression, stress management, decision making, sleep issues, etc). I have found the integration of approaches to be particularly effective in providing successful outcomes for my clients.
