Teens (16+)
Many teens (as well as adults!) are new to therapy. Providing a calm, friendly, and engaged space often goes a long way in getting started. As a teen developing more autonomy, therapy is an opportunity to figure out what ways of communicating are most effective for you, talk thru concerns that might be challenging to initially discuss with friends/family, and learn some tools to navigate the stressors/concerns that come up in life. We’ll agree on a plan at the start of therapy regarding if, when, and how to include family members in the process.
For teenage clients, our sessions would be in person. We could discuss the option of incorporating telehealth sessions as well.
Young Adults & Adults
Sessions are generally 50 minutes and can be in person, via telehealth, or some combination of the two. While there are many benefits to being in person, telehealth offers an option for therapy to individuals who otherwise would not be able to make regular therapy appointments in person due to work, family, and/or travel conflicts.
